AnyMP4 MP4 Converter App Reviews
I used the FREE MP4 Converter for about a month, it worked great, then I paid for this $40 version and it DOES NOT WORK……. after converting any video file or just editing the file, the result is NO VIDEO FILE left, it goes from a 2 minute video to 1 second video, and from 30 GB file to a 25 kb file, my original file is lost. I should have just stayed with the free version. What a waste of time and money !!
I’ll first confess that I am very unsophisticated when it comes to frame rates and bit rates and that sort of advanced thing. That being said, I’m quite happy with this app. It’s demonstrated consistently excellent performance no matter what I’ve thrown at it. There was one glitch when I tried to convert a few hundred files in one batch (a mix of .flv, .mov., .m4v & .wmv files) - several of them said “failed”. But everything worked the next time I tried. It’s performed exactly as I had hoped. The only other observation I’d make is that the estimated time to completion on larger jobs is a bit…optimistic. But I’d for sure recommend it to a friend and I’d buy it again.

What’s up with all the weekly updates?
I don’t use this app anymore. But I’m constantly reminded that it’s there, weekly. I’m tempted to just uninstall it.
When this app works, it is great. OK, I would have liked the preview windows a little larger but, no big deal. The problem is, it NEVER WORKS. All I wanted it for was to take 8-10 second mp4 segments out of 4 minute HD video avi files (approx. 250MB). Not a huge deal, right? Well, it crashes 3 out of 4 times when you open a video file. After the elusive 25% successof actually opening a video file, it crashes 1 out of 5 times while converting the video. I paid $36 for this and I spend most of my interface time with it restarting it. LAME.

After spending money to upgrade to PRO I tried to convert my first file - an MKV. The sound converted, but NO VIDEO. I played the MKV file as it is on a video view program and it is fine. This upgrade is supposed to convert MKV files to MP4. Without the video it is actually converting to an MP3. If I wanted to listen to my videos this would be no problem, but I don’t think it is asking too much to watch my videos. This is rubbish and I want my money back.
My normal conversion time for a youth soccer game video WAS about 1.5-2 hours. Now, since the “update” that was supposed to decrease conversion time, it’s now over 16 hours per game anf growing. Whatever changes were made did NOT help the functionality of this app. Please just go back to the previous version and continue working on an update. The program is now super glitchy and stalls out numerous times when trying to set up a video conversion. This is really frustrating and disappointing!
Failed to convert
Stop working, loads to convert then fail when starting to convert, every time use it take you to a buy page for there other programs. If they can not keep this one working why would you buy another one from them! It has been since August 2024 since it has worked. (Last update) I love this program until the last update. SAD!!! Sad over a 7 months since it has worked!! Every time try to see if It works, popups to buy other apps they sell (SAD) why would I buy another app from them went they cannot support this app.
Failed Downloads
The app no longer works for some reason. Regardless of updates it won’t download any videos.
Horrible update
I LOVED this app. And all versions prior to 6.3.17 worked great. I happily paid full orice for this in 2017. BUT - BEWARE - Withn this update, you lose all "toolbox" functionality. Enhancing videos, watermakring etc. These aren't essential tools, and the app does a decent job with them, but the point is - you HAD the majority of these tools in previous versions. YOU DON'T HAVE THEM if you upgrade. And the only way to get them is to pay MORE for them. Idiotic customer service that doesn't comprehend emails and ignores proof that you've prevuiously purchased the profduct and then they ask for MORE money. Guys, I wrote you in good faith. I showed you proof of my previous purchase, twice! You ignored all that and asked me to pay for for smmething I actually already own. Good thing is, I've beat you at your game. I found version 6.3.17 and it works as it did before. So I don't need or want your upgrade. Bottom line, there are much better apps out there that do the same thing or better, and have a company behind them that actually cares about keeping customers. Guys, you deserved this one star rating. You had multiple chances to make this right. This is what you get for not listening.
fails to open .VOB
VOB was listed as an upgrade to free MP4 converter. When I clicked on upgrade, it sent me to AnyMP4, which doesn’t work on VOB. Avoid both products.
Recent Update Ruined performance
Converting files to mp4 used to take minutes with previous version, new update now takes way longer
Not a fan of some changes...
Usually I like updates. While the new interface looks fresh and cool, the current version of AnyMP4 no longer seems to allow custom-built profiles. I generally compress all video files to 1280x720 at bit rate of 3,000. However, the only way to currently do that is to go through each file, one by one and play with the bitrate slider to get as close to 3,000 as possible. It's quite irrtating to be honest. Depending on the video file, I liked being able to have customized conversaion profiles. Why was this capability done away with? It seems like a major step back. :(

Settings do not reflect outcome
Ironically, the ‘demo’ version worked quite well - for one day, but after purchasing the ‘upgrade’ I could not get it to do what the settings claim it would do. In this case, no matter what format I used, or combination of output settings, when I tried to create ‘side by side’ full, it did side by side half -every single time. As this was the main reason I got this app, my disappointment is monumental. “support” is a joke. I got the runaround for days, and then apple f-ed up my ID and I am still waiting for thyem to get their act together. A waste of money. I want a refund.
Meh,
Yeah it converts video, however when trying to convert and compress mkv to mp4, the files come out with boarder that I havent figure out git rid of, not overly please for the $30 I spent.
Takes too long!!!
Converting a single 4k mkv file takes over 13 hours in a beefy, brand new macmini with 64 Gb RAM

Begining to think I wasted my money
Maybe the rip was bad so I can't pinpoint the blame yet... It takes overnight to convert a file? The free one doesn't take that long, a couple of hours tops. And no, my connection and the speed are fine.
AnyMP4 MP4 Converter
I had some 300 MP4 video songs averaging 4 mins per song, that needed to be convrted to MP3 audio format for use on my car radio. I found the above named app which forefilled this requirement. I was very easy to use and finish all without a problem. It is an excellent product, and I highly recommend it.

TERRIBLE
I bought this app thinking that it would enhance the video quality of my videos but all it did was crop it (I put the setting as 'original') and I also put the best video settings possible. I put it all to 'original' and i even adjusted the 'video enhance' settings to the best. When I put the video in Final Cut Pro X, the video appeared cropped and the quality got worse than the original file. What happened? I want a refund immediately.
Almost perfect!
Very convenient and fast. I love the "clip" function, ideal for quick edits. My only cons would be that it doesn't support drag & drop, which is annoying. I'd like to drag & drop my file(s) from the finder straght to main window instead of browsing within folders until I reach the file(s) I want to convert.

I bought the upgrade and it crops my videos off. i read the previous complaint about this problem and the following responce from the maker, and i did everything it said and it still didnt stop cropping. i tried several different types of convertions and it either cropped or would not even play. im extremely unhappy and i would like a refund
Subtitles?
I've asked support twice now how to change subtitle fonts. The first response was them asking to verify my purchase through the app store, which I provided. I have not heard back and sent a second request, which I have also not yet received a response.

Not good
Every time I try to convert a video (I’ve tried multiple options), it comes out in very poor quality. If you don’t care about quality, sure, go ahead and download THE FREE VERSION. I paid 30 freaking dollars for the app just to see if the quality would be any better, but it wasn’t. If anything, it was worse.
Video crops when merging footage
When merging multiple video files together, my footage will get cropped by about 30%. I use your package to merge video surveillance footage. The cropped-out area contains vital date/time stamps making it difficult to use.

It said that in buying the application instead of the free one, it would speed up conversion time and make the videos clearer. However, no matter what I do, it still takes forever to convert, and it fuzzier than when using the free application… please refund

No video ONLY audio
